Dana Buoy - Summer Bodies

Dana Buoy (aka Dana Janssen), the long time drummer for Akron/Family, is releasing his fantastic debut solo album Summer Bodies on Lefse Records May 8th. According to the press materials, this album "started as hopeful love notes left on an answering machine in Oregon were later crafted into an album in a bungalow near a jungle lagoon in Thailand." In truth, the easy, care free beach lifestyle clearly comes through in the music. Summer Bodies feels like a good friend you haven't seen in years who comes to visit for a day to catch up on old times. By the time Summer Bodies ends, you have the sensation of lying in bed on a summer night, slightly buzzed, reviewing the events of the day, while pleasantly drifting off to sleep. Stand out tracks include Call to Be, Delicate Suitor and So Lucky. However, there is not a disappointing song on this album. Give this record a shot, you won't regret it.
